Dewars Aberfeldy Distillery was first planned in 1896 by the sons of John Dewar and is the only Scotch whiskey distillery built by the Dewar family. The whiskey distillery is based in Aberfeldy, Perthshire, Scotland.
Aberfeldy Distillery is located in a lush valley at the foot of the Scottish Central Highlands. Known as 'Golden Dram' - the distillery's water source is the famous Pitilie Burn - which is locally known for its water quality and gold deposits. This whiskey was originally aged in the best oak barrels for over a decade before it was removed for an additional aging period and filled into sweet Oloroso sherry casks. Limited to only 4,803 bottles.
The whiskey has very subtle notes of ginger and cinnamon. It's high in brown sugar that has been softened with a splash of golden syrup and treacle toffee.
