Knockdhu is a whisky distillery near Knock, near Huntly Aberdeenshire in Scotland, United Kingdom.
For Peatheart Batch 3, the peated barley malt was distilled in two copper stills. The special AnCnoc stills guarantee a high return rate thanks to their size and conical neck. The fresh distillate was placed in cast-iron worms to cool. The New Make whisky then matured for more than ten years in ex-bourbon casks.
The nose reveals sweet barbecue smoke and earthy peat notes, which blend with honey and spices to create a fragrant, grassy character. On the palate, there is a light peat smoke with green apples and citrus fruits, followed by a hint of vanilla and an oily smoky note.
