Arran is a distillery that has reopened in 1995. The Isle of Arran, off the west coast of Scotland, has a very old whiskey tradition. Arran Distillery is conveniently located on Loch na Davie.
Whisky extracts a large part of its flavor from the cask. Arran Amarone Cask Finish matures in selected Amarone wine casks after spending several years in traditional oak casks. These Amarone casks are sourced from artisan red wine producers in the Veneto region of Italy. These carefully selected casks give the Arran Amarone Cask Finish an elegant and lively character. Aromatic notes of cherries, chocolate and pear rise to the nose. On the palate, there are gentle notes of cranberry and honey. The finish is sweet with slight hints of pear, cherries and a touch of dark chocolate.
