Ballantine had his business in the South Bridge area near Princes Street in Edinburgh in 1837. There he experimented mixing malt and grain whiskeys of different ages from different distilleries to create a slightly lighter, more refined product This is how the excellent and various Ballantine whiskeys were created.

The 12-year-old Ballantine’s is a ripe, smooth and complex whiskey made from a blend of selected single malt and grain whiskeys. The result is a wonderfully rounded blend with perfectly balanced notes of honey, oak, fruit, spices and a creamy structure and a refreshing finish.

This whiskey is very complex. It has light, floral nuances and tastes like honey and oak. Its finish is refreshing with a hint of salt.
