Ballantine had his business in the South Bridge area near Princes Street in Edinburgh in 1837. There he experimented mixing malt and grain whiskeys of different ages from different distilleries to create a slightly lighter, more refined product This is how the excellent and various Ballantine whiskeys were created.
A new spirit based on Scottish whiskey, which partly matured in the barrel with dried Brazilian lime peel. Its taste is perfectly balanced between a spirited fresh lime note, sweet vanilla and soft notes of scotch whiskey.
