Barceló is a rum from the Dominican Republic. Julian Barceló founded in 1930 in Santo Domingo the company Barceló & Co. The brand became one of the largest rum Destilleria of the Caribbean.
Ron Barceló Añejo is a rum from the Dominican Republic with 37.5% vol. This bottling shows the approachable Caribbean character of Barceló and is well suited for long drinks, cocktails or easy drinking over ice.
According to the producer, the rum is made from fresh sugar cane juice and aged for 4 years in ex bourbon oak barrels. This gives it its bright amber colour and a rounded aromatic profile with caramel, vanilla, wood and spicy accents.
On the nose, it shows melted caramel, fine pepper notes, tobacco, vanilla and gentle roasted aromas. On the palate, Ron Barceló Añejo is dry, fruity and pleasantly spicy with cherry, caramel, white pepper and a light oak note.
The finish is long lasting and lightly spicy. Ron Barceló Añejo works especially well with cola, fruity rum cocktails or classic long drinks.
