In 1879 the tea merchant Gordon Graham created a new whiskey that was actually for his private use. After the first success, he had the bottles made in the shape of a still. Today's Black Bottle is a blend and at five years old it's still a young whiskey. In a perfectly balanced relationship, it connects the Scottish Speyside region with the High and Lowlands and the Islay Malts.
This "Black Bottle 10 Years" is a limited special edition, which was allowed to be stored in the barrel for ten years before bottling.
Notes of smoke, oak, brown sugar, coconut, herbs, honey and a light candy sweetness rise into the nose. On the palate it is also slightly smoky with a ginger-spicy, butter biscuit, sea flavors, apple pie and floral lavender tones. The finish is of medium length.
