Bowmore is a whiskey distillery on the island of Islay in Scotland. The distillery is owned by the Japanese-American Beam Suntory group. Most of the distillery's whiskeys are aged in Spanish sherry casks, giving them their own unique flavor.
The legendary Bowmore No.1 Vaults are the oldest warehouses for Scotch single malt whisky. Four bottlings of the Bowmore Vault Edition show the complexity and diversity of Bowmore single malt whiskies. The range will have four versions, each targeting one of four flavors: Atlantic Sea Salt, Perfect Peat Smoke, Rich Fruity and Silky Sweet.
The first edition clearly shows the distance of the distillery from the sea and the taste of sea salt contained in the single malt whiskey. Notes of sweet honey, cocoa and ripe fruits fill the air. On the palate one also perceives notes of fruit. There are also light salty notes. The finish is long with a slight sweetness and some sea salt.
