Don Andrés Brugal Montaner has founded the company Brugal in 1888, in Puerto Plata (Dominican Republic). The Distillery Brugal will continue to be led by family members.
The "Brugal 1888" is a really extraordinary rum. He is first matured in handpicked ex-bourbon barrels from American oak and then in European oak barrels with first filling. This mixture of two worlds gives 1888 a complex yet balanced spirit that stimulates the senses and develops in the glass.
He presents several aromas that develop over time. The rum is spicy, with chocolate, roasting and flavors reminiscent of cinnamon and dried fruits. He is beautiful soft on the palate. The rum has a strick caramel taste. Wood and liquorice come as well as the light. He has a remarkable long aftertaste and is woody, complex, elegant and light sweetish.
