Bruichladdich is a whiskey distillery in Bruichladdich on the island of Islay, Scotland.
This Octomore matured for three and a half years in ex-American oak casks to create a base and then spent 18 months in French Sauternes casks to achieve its final flavor. The maturation is 100% on the island of Islay.
Notes of almonds, honey and sweet notes such as melon, peach and dried apples emerge on the nose. On the palate it is strong and sweet with light flavors of lemon zest, vanilla, caramel and ripe fruit. The finish is long-lasting with a slightly maritime note and a fresh lemon flavor.
