Bruichladdich is a whiskey distillery in Bruichladdich on the island of Islay, Scotland.
In the case of Bruichladdich Octomore 13.3, you only use Concerta barley grown on Islay. It comes 100% from the Octomore Farm, which is part of the Bruichladdich distillery and is located close to it. The strictly limited whisky matures for a total of 5 years in former bourbon casks and in wine casks previously filled with French and Spanish wine.The nose opens with sweet, spicy notes of rose, apricot and eucalyptus. Later, aromas of marzipan, ginger cookies and honeydew melon are perceived, with a distinct peat smoke also present. Its taste is initially velvety sweet with notes of honey and brown sugar. On the second sip, the typical smoky character of Octomore becomes clearer and citrus and sea notes emerge, which are further enriched by notes of marzipan, coconut and ash. The finish also has typical smoky and marine notes.
