Caperdonich is a former whiskey distillery in Rothes, Moray, Scotland, UK.
This batch of 21 year old peated single malt scotch whiskey is the only one available because it comes from a distillery that no longer exists. Peat from the fields of the Speyside region makes for an unexpected taste experience. This whiskey has matured in American oak barrels that were filled for the first time.
The nose notices the sweet orange zest and malt candy, followed by lemon jam. The taste is ripe, poached pear, a hint of vanilla against a pleasant background of flowers and herbs. The finish is very long and gentle.
