The very successful company was founded in 1989 by Alexandre Gabriel and is located in Ars in the French region Cognac. In addition to the first-class gines, including the Cognac variety Pierre Ferrand and the Rum brand Plantation to the product range. In 2017 Ferrand is also owned by the historic West Indies Rum Distillery on the Caribbean Island Barbados.
The Citadelle Gin originating from France is made of wheat and spring water and mixed with 19 different herbs and spices.
To the herbs and spices include juniper berries, coriander, orange peels, cardamom, cubebears, licorice, bohen herb, fennel, iris root, cinnamon, violet, almonds, cassia, angel root, lemon bowls, caraway, paradise grains, nutmeg and star anise. The gin is produced in triple distillation process according to original recipe from 1771 and has a very balanced and complex character.
