Oliver & Oliver International is a family run rum company of Cuban origin, based in the Dominican Republic. The company specialises in the production and marketing of handcrafted premium rums and works with its own ageing and blending system inspired by the traditional solera method.
Cubaney 18 Year Old Selecto is a mature solera rum from the Dominican Republic. The bottling comes from Oliver & Oliver International and combines Caribbean rum character with smooth sweetness, dark fruit and fine cask spice.
According to retailer information, the rum matures using the solera method and is listed with 18 years of solera ageing. American and French oak casks from the bourbon and wine industries help shape its rounded, mild and aromatic style.
On the nose, it shows sweet notes of dark chocolate, vanilla, honey, marzipan and light wood. On the palate, Cubaney Selecto 18 Year Old is smooth and mild with dark chocolate, bourbon vanilla, fine spice, subtle fruit and a gentle woody character.
The finish is soft, long and pleasantly balanced. Cubaney 18 Year Old Selecto is especially suited for sipping neat at room temperature or with one or two fresh mint leaves.
