Deanston is a whiskey distillery in Deanston, Stirling, Scotland. The Deanston distillery was built on the premises of an old cotton mill.
Deanston 10 years, matures first in ex-Bourbon barrels and then gets its finish in former red wine barrels from the French Bordeaux, in which it also spent a large part of its storage time.
Intense aromas of ripe grapes rise into the nose, you can recognize the red wine barrel, honey, toffee and a subtle spice. On the palate, light nuances of dark chocolate with traces of molasses and toffee, then red wine, honey and sweet malt come to the fore. The finish is long and persistent, sweet with a gently spicy finish.
