Deanston is a whiskey distillery in Deanston, Stirling, Scotland. The Deanston distillery was built on the premises of an old cotton mill.
The Deanston Vintage 2002 has been given an organic PX finish and is an experimental limited edition. It has been matured for a full 17 years and finished for 3 years in Pedro Ximénez sherry casks.
The sweetness of dried fruit with dates and raisins rises on the nose. Caramel and honey provide even more sweetness. On the palate, it is full-bodied and creamy, with caramel sweets, pancakes with lots of maple syrup and candied orange peel. Behind this are raisins preserved in sherry. The finish has a lingering fruity sweetness with honey and cashew nuts.
