Islay distilleries are known for their predominantly peaty, smoky character, offering all variations on the ash, beach fire, coal dust and tar theme. Big Peat embodies the boundless spirit of Islay in a bottle.
Sweet malty notes with dried peat aroma rise into the nose. On the palate notes of ash, sweet tar, beaches and smoking chimneys are noticed. The finish is long and persistent. It replicates the palate with salty, spicy liquorice, smoke, campfire ash and a phenolic quality.
