Edradour is a Scottish whiskey distillery and was founded in 1825. It lies in a small valley, hidden by the surrounding mountains, east of the village of Pitlochry and was for a long time the smallest whiskey distillery in Scotland. Originally the distillery was called Glenforres. Edradour is the last original 'farm' distillery with very traditional equipment. The stills are the smallest in Scotland and that must add to the unmistakable richness of the malt.
As is typical for Edradour, only the best ingredients and the best Scottish spring water are used for this whiskey.
Edradour Caledonia shows particularly strong notes of sherry. In its 42 month long finishing phase, it had enough time to draw intense aromas from the exclusive Oloroso sherry casks. Fruity and slightly spicy aromas of vanilla, sherry and a hint of oak fill the air.
