Located in Guyana on the tropical north coast of South America, the Demerara Distillery has been processing sugar cane since 1670. The premium brand El Dorado has become a byword for high-quality rum worldwide.
El Dorado 15 Year Old is a mature Demerara rum from Guyana. This bottling is produced by Demerara Distillers and combines different rum styles from historic stills into a full bodied, complex blend.
The rum is blended from marques produced on the EHP Wooden Coffey Still, the Metal Coffey Still, the Port Mourant Double Wooden Pot Still and the Versailles Single Wooden Pot Still. This creates a richly aromatic rum with depth, spice and an earthy character.
On the nose, it shows dark coffee, candied orange, almonds, dark chocolate, pepper and vanilla. On the palate, El Dorado 15 Year Old is full bodied and rounded with grilled tropical fruit, smooth oak spice, caramel, chocolate and fine fruit sweetness.
The finish is long, warm and aromatic with oak, spices and a lightly earthy note. El Dorado 15 Year Old is especially suited for sipping neat at room temperature or over one large ice cube.
