Flor de Caña 18 Year Old Volcanic Bourbon Cask is an aged rum from Nicaragua. This expression comes from Flor de Caña, a long established rum brand whose maturation is shaped by the tropical climate at the base of the San Cristóbal volcano.
The rum matures in bourbon casks, giving it a smooth and rounded profile with vanilla, wood, chocolate and fine spice. The volcanic environment of Nicaragua supports a distinctive maturation process and adds depth to its character.
On the nose, it shows notes of wood, vanilla, chocolate, nutmeg and gentle sweetness. On the palate, the rum is smooth, pleasantly oily and full bodied, with hints of American oak, caramel, cocoa, vanilla and soft spice.
The finish is mild, rounded and pleasantly warm, with wood, cocoa and sweet spice. Flor de Caña 18 Year Old Volcanic Bourbon Cask is especially suited for sipping neat, over ice or with just a small amount of ice.
