The Ziegler distillery has been producing spirits since 1865. The distillery was founded in Freudenberg am Main, Germany.
Freud Whiskey is a liquid tribute to Freudenberg, the proud home of our legendary distillery. Freud “Distillers Cut” is our first whiskey. The aging process begins in chestnut barrels and barrels used to age bourbon. “Distillers Cut” is then further matured in barrels with Ziegler Old Plum fruit brandy. Distillers Cut is a complex yet pleasantly approachable malt whiskey that is equally delicious neat or in mixed drinks.
On the nose and palate you can notice sweet citrus notes, floral flowers, dark fruit notes and a light smoky malt spice. There are also hints of roasted nuts and candied apples.
