This whiskey comes from the distillery of the same name, which was founded in 1832 and has been very well known for fine single malt from Campbeltown for almost 200 years.
It is characteristic of the whiskeys that they are produced near the sea. The whiskey distillery is not far from the island of Islay and specializes in peated whiskey of the smoky, peaty type.
This whiskey was allowed to mature in American oak barrels and get its finish in Pedro Ximénez sherry barrels.
Intense and sweet notes of flambéed vanilla pudding, cane sugar, fresh fruits such as ripe pear, yellow gooseberry and peach rise into the nose.
On the palate you can perceive bitter-sweet-spicy notes. Caramelized sugar, walnuts, cocoa, coffee, burnt chocolate cake, pepper and a light coffee note are also perceived.
