Glenfiddich is a whiskey distillery near Dufftown in the former County of Banffshire in Scotland. Glenfiddich is one of the largest single malt producers in Scotland. With the help of his nine children and a stonemason, William Grant fulfills his lifelong dream and builds a distillery that he does named after the nearby Deer Valley "" Glenfiddich "". After only one year, on Christmas Eve 1887, the first drop of whiskey flowed out of the copper stills.
This great dram is the world's best-selling single malt scotch. After the 12-year aging period in the finest Oloroso sherry barrels and ex-bourbon barrels, this whiskey is married in so-called tuns made of oak.
The smell of the 12 year old whiskey is fresh and pleasant, with floral notes, some sweet malt, some citrus and a hint of honey. Its fruity and floral aromas leave a nice, crunchy taste on the tongue. The finish is relatively short with a slightly oily, sweet and fruity aftertaste.
