Glenlivet is a whiskey distillery near Ballindalloch, Moray, Scotland. The distillery was founded in 1824 as the first legal distillery under the Act of Excise of 1823 by George Smith. The distillery has one mash tun and eight fermentation vats. For The Glenlivet American oak barrels are used in which, for example, sherry or bourbon has already been stored and which give the whiskey its own aroma.

The founder of Glenlivet began producing his world-famous single malts in the remote Livet Valley in 1824. At that time, of course, he did not have a distilling license, so the bottling is called 'Illicit Still' - 'Illegal still'. Today the Glenlivet distillery is one of the largest and most important international malt whiskey producers.

This single malt Scotch whiskey is aged for 12 years in American oak barrels.

Exotic notes of ripe pineapple, vanilla and a hint of coconut fill the air. The palate is intense with aromas of fresh fruits, ripe peaches, pears and caramel. The finish is soft and long.
