Glenlivet is a whiskey distillery near Ballindalloch, Moray, Scotland. The distillery was founded in 1824 as the first legal distillery under the Act of Excise of 1823 by George Smith. The distillery has one mash tun and eight fermentation vats. For The Glenlivet American oak barrels are used in which, for example, sherry or bourbon has already been stored and which give the whiskey its own aroma.

Glenlivet 12 years old owes its complex character to the size of the still bases in the Glenlivet distillery. It matures in different barrel types in barrels made of American and European oak. During the aging process in American oak, the whiskey acquires notes of vanilla and its unmistakably soft character.

It is well balanced and fruity with pronounced pineapple notes. Its finish is creamy and gentle with marzipan and fresh hazelnuts on the nose.
