Glenlivet is a whiskey distillery near Ballindalloch, Moray, Scotland. The distillery was founded in 1824 as the first legal distillery under the Act of Excise of 1823 by George Smith. The distillery has one mash tun and eight fermentation vats. For The Glenlivet American oak barrels are used in which, for example, sherry or bourbon has already been stored and which give the whiskey its own aroma.

This whiskey is allowed to mature in 3 different barrels. It ages in ex-bourbon, ex-sherry barrels and some barrels made from American white oak. The White Oak has the highest proportion of American white oak barrels, which produce a deep, velvety taste with subtle, creamy coconut and vanilla notes. For a richer, more intense character, The Master Distiller also used the "" never emptied "" Solera Vat.

An aroma rises from a carpet of ripe garden fruit, accompanied by nougat, vanilla and coconut pulp. On the train it has a slightly dry, creamy and velvety body. It is rather light, with coconut, honey, garden fruits (apples and pears) and bourbon vanilla. The finish is creamy with full of cream, marzipan, oak and almonds.
