Glenmorangie is a whiskey distillery in Tain in the Northern Highlands of Scotland and probably one of the most famous whiskey distilleries. The malt used in the production is unpeated so that no smoke aromas detract from the mild fruity character of the Glenmorangie whiskey. The distillery uses Mainly American oak barrels. First, the raw spirit is filled in (mostly first fill) bourbon barrels for 10 years. Then the whiskey is decanted into bourbon barrels, sherry barrels, port pipes or Sauternes barrels for the finish. Glenmorangie achieves a great variability in the whiskey range.

The unique and elegant notes of the Glenmorangie 19 Years Old reinforce the classic character of Glenmorangie in an unprecedented way. Matured for 19 years exclusively in the finest ex-bourbon barrels, this whiskey is exceptionally silky, deeply complex and surprisingly spicy.

Aromas of herbal notes, including mint and eucalyptus, fill the air. Then a hint of sugar cane, peach and vanilla develops. A few drops of water develop fragrant, floral notes such as rose, carnation and lily. The honey forms the background. The mouthfeel is silky and slightly creamy with initial notes of apple, apricot, spicy orange, toffee, menthol and cream caramel. The finish is characterized by a hint of mint toffee, oak tannins and the lingering notes of bittersweet citrus fruits.
