Glenmorangie is a whiskey distillery in Tain in the Northern Highlands of Scotland and probably one of the most famous whiskey distilleries. The malt used in the production is unpeated so that no smoke aromas detract from the mild fruity character of the Glenmorangie whiskey. The distillery uses Mainly American oak barrels. First, the raw spirit is filled in (mostly first fill) bourbon barrels for 10 years. Then the whiskey is decanted into bourbon barrels, sherry barrels, port pipes or Sauternes barrels for the finish. Glenmorangie achieves a great variability in the whiskey range.

This Glenmorangie 14-year-old first matures in bourbon barrels for at least ten years before it is then further matured in selected port wine barrels. Both the barrel selection and the process of the single malt remain unchanged, so that the aromatic character that defines the Glenmorangie Quinta Ruban is retained.

Fruity and floral notes rise in the nose, with fruity orange, some sandalwood and dark chocolate. Nutty notes with exotic spices are also very present. It is soft on the palate and is accompanied by aromas of chocolate, sweet tangerine and nuts. The finish is long and you can feel fresh notes of mint and orange.
