Gold of Mauritius is a rum creation from the paradise island of Mauritius in the Indian Ocean.
This rum is a blend of various individual distillates that have been distilled from sugar cane molasses using the traditional method. A mixture of the best flavors from Mauritius make hearts beat faster. The blend is then matured in former sweet wine barrels for 6-8 months in order to obtain the unique and incomparable style. The bottling is personally supervised by Frederic Bestel, the owner of the brand. Frederic, an entrepreneur from Mauritius with many years of experience in spirits, produced the rum in a local distillery in 2014.
The dark rum offers the nose complex aromas with notes of oak, malt and roasted nuts, accompanied by a hint of fine chocolate and tropical fruits. A harmonious balance of vanilla and fine spices on the palate with a very long and pleasant mouthfeel on the finish reflects the spirit of Mauritius. A true composition that lives up to the name "Gold of Mauritius".
