The Hatozaki whiskies are produced at the Kaikyo Distillery. The Hatozaki Pure Malt is an elegant vatting of malts that the Kaikyo Distillery has put together from single malts from several distilleries. The malts were not distilled at the distillery itself - for the occasion. However, the malts were matured in casks and blended on site. The single malts were stored in different casks: ex-sherry casks, ex-bourbon casks and Japanese Mizunara oak casks.
The nose is filled with rich notes of sweet cereals. Malty dried fruit and a hint of smoke are perceived on the palate. The finish is long-lasting and honey can also be detected here.
