The Highland Park distillery is a whiskey distillery in Kirkwall on the Orkney island of Mainland in Scotland, UK. It is the northernmost whiskey distillery in Scotland. The distillery has a wide variety of bottlings. All are slightly sweet with notes of heather , Peat, sea air and honey.
This whiskey is stored in American oak sherry barrels, which gives Highland Park its elegant taste.
Thorfinn was a man of power and influence who in his day controlled the entire Orkney Islands.
The bouquet has rich aromas of cedar, camphor, mango, coriander, spicy and smoky with vanilla pods. It is very complex and the ginger root is in the foreground here in terms of taste, followed by smoky oak. In the finish it has a persistent spice and a hint of smoke.
