The distillery was founded in 1992 by Stewart MacDuff, Ted Thomson and Charles Murray and is therefore a very young distillery. This Islay Mist was distilled in the Laphroaig Distillery.
The Islay Mist Whiskey from Scotland defines itself as a classic Islay Scotch with plenty of facets. The 12-year-old Islay Mist consists of malts from the island of Islay, including Laphroaig, and grain whiskeys from the Scottish mainland.
Smoky notes, aromas of heather and sweet syrup rise into the nose. On the palate it is well balanced and here one perceives notes of dried fruit, sweet plum and heather smoke. The finish is long and notes of tobacco and some leather are present here.
