Isle of Jura is a whiskey distillery based in Craighouse on the Isle of Jura, Scotland, UK. Originally founded in 1810, the distillery was reborn in 1963, revitalizing a local community.
It is matured in ex-bourbon barrels made from American white oak and enriched with a warm finish from hand-picked sherry barrels, in which fifteen-year-old Pedro Ximénez sherry wines were previously stored.
Woody, slightly spicy aromas rise in the nose. In the mouth you can perceive a lot of sherry, fruit, a slight sweetness. It has a nice, long finish.
