Isle of Jura is a whiskey distillery based in Craighouse on the Isle of Jura, Scotland, UK. Originally founded in 1810, the distillery was reborn in 1963, revitalizing a local community.
"" The Road "": A single malt whiskey that has been given a wine finish in the 20-year-old Pedro Ximénez sherry barrel. On the Jura there is only one road that emerges from the wilderness and leads on a long and overgrown path from the coast south to the distillery. Aged in American White Oak Ex-Bourbon casks, "" The Road "" gets its warmth from handpicked 20-year-old Pedro Ximénez sherry casks.
Fresh aromas of apricots and bergamot fill the air. In terms of taste, it has notes of rich coffee and syrup. Roasted pistachios and cinnamon are strongly represented in the finish.
