Isle of Jura is a whiskey distillery based in Craighouse on the Isle of Jura, Scotland, UK. Originally founded in 1810, the distillery was reborn in 1963, revitalizing a local community.
"" The Sound "": A single malt whiskey that has been given a wine finish in the 15-year-old Pedro Ximénez sherry barrel. The sound of the northern Jura Strait is home to the Gulf of Corryvreckan: a notorious vortex that lies in wait for the unwary. Matured in American White Oak Ex-Bourbon casks, "" The Sound "" gets its sweetness from hand-picked 15-year-old Pedro Ximénez sherry casks.
Aromas of hazelnuts, orange and maple syrup fill the air. In terms of taste, you can perceive caramel fudge. In the finish you can feel notes of black fruits and milk chocolate.
