Kilchoman is one of the younger whiskey distilleries in Scotland and one of nine active whiskey distilleries on the Hebridean island of Islay in Scotland.
The 2015 bottling was mostly made from 6-year-old single malt whiskeys. Most of the whiskeys were stored in ex-Bourbon barrels and a smaller part in Oloroso sherry barrels.
A typical smoky note rises into the nose with subtle sweetness and light citrus notes. On the palate you can first notice vanilla and caramel, followed by a strong, sweet smoke.
