The "Ian Macleod Distillers Ltd." is one of the four largest independent whiskey bottlers in Scotland, which was founded in 1936.
The founder, Leonard J. Russel Sr., began purchasing quality casks that suited his or his customers' tastes from a wide variety of distilleries. Nothing has changed in this philosophy. The purchased casks remain with the respective distilleries until they have matured and are only transferred to their own warehouses for bottling.
