This is a whiskey from Japan. Founded in 1952, Kumesen Syuzo Distilling Co is based on the island of Okinawa and began distilling spirits from indica long grain rice fermented with native black koji. In 1989, Kumesen began aging his product in bourbon casks and Kujira was born.
The whiskey is distilled with 100% high-quality indica rice and matured in selected bourbon casks for no less than 24 years. The whiskey is allowed to mature in Okinawa, a beautiful tropical southern island of Japan, which is warm and humid all year round and gives the whiskey a perfectly balanced taste.
