This is a whiskey from Japan. Founded in 1952, Kumesen Syuzo Distilling Co is based on the island of Okinawa and began distilling spirits from indica long grain rice fermented with native black koji. In 1989, Kumesen began aging his product in bourbon casks and Kujira was born.

The whiskey is distilled with 100% high quality indica rice. This whiskey was allowed to mature for 5 years in first filled white oak casks in the subtropical climate at the southern end of Okinawa in Japan. This gives it its perfectly balanced taste.

A slight sweetness of caramel, vanilla, liquorice and notes of spicy oak rise into the nose. On the palate you can also perceive sweet caramel, vanilla and light spicy aromas. The finish is pleasant with a slight sweetness, spicy oak and some pepper.
