Lagavulin is a whiskey distillery in Lagavulin on the Scottish Hebridean island of Islay. The distillery belongs to the spirits group Diageo.
The 10-year-old Insel-Malt, which was developed by the Malt Master Dr. Craig Wilson was composed, is characterized by its intense and smoky character with a fantastic smoothness and spicy notes, which it owes to the aging in barrels made of American oak and former bourbon barrels.
It is mild and slightly dry with fruity notes. Fresh with peat smoke and a maritime touch of seaweed and sea air. It's light, soft and salty-sweet. Warm, intense smoke follows.
