Lagavulin is a whiskey distillery in Lagavulin on the Scottish Hebridean island of Islay. The distillery belongs to the spirits group Diageo.
A much sought-after single malt with powerful peat smoke, as is typical for southern Islay - but which also offers a dryness that makes it a really interesting sip. An intense, smoky-sweet single malt with seaweed aromas and a huge finish, aged in oak barrels for at least 16 years.
Dry peat smoke fills the palate with a gentle yet powerful sweetness, then gives way to notes of sea and salt with hints of wood.
