The Macallan is a single malt whiskey distillery in Easter Elchies, Craigellachie, Banffshire, Scotland.
Macallan Earth Night Highland Single Malt Whisky was created especially for New Year's Eve and is known in Scotland as "Hogmanay". The production process takes place in various casks in the distillery and is designed to be reminiscent of the usual Scottish cuisine on New Year's Eve.
Buttery aromas of vanilla, baked apple, cookie, plum and almond fill the nose. The mouthfeel is soft and sweet with a shortbread flavor, a hint of vanilla and toasted marshmallows. There are also notes of dried orange, figs and cinnamon. The finish is medium long with notes of sweet caramel and freshly baked cookies.
