The Macallan is a single malt whiskey distillery in Easter Elchies, Craigellachie, Banffshire, Scotland.
The first milestone in the creation of the Macallan Aera was the selection of the highest quality American and European oak. The precious and well-selected oak is transported from the forests of the USA and northern Spain to Jerez in southern Spain. It is naturally dried there for four years. The maturation in these barrels forms the cornerstone and the unique taste of the "" Macallan Single Malts "".
This limited bottling of Macallen was originally intended for the Taiwanese market.
In the nose, balanced notes of vanilla, candied fruits, orange peel and a slight citrus sweetness rise. On the palate you can perceive warm chocolate, dried fruits, silky soft honey and sweet citrus fruits. The finish is long, sweet and warm.
