In addition to corn and barley, red winter wheat is used for its production instead of rye, as is usually the case.

 The Maker's Mark Private Selection Whiskey is a strictly limited edition that is created in a complex process. This whiskey was allowed to mature for 5 to 7 years and is made from several casks that are married. He then received a finish of 9 weeks. The "Private Selection" is created by adding 10 individual finishing wooden sticks to each cask. This special process gives the whiskey its perfectly balanced and special flavor profile.
