This is an excellent rum from the Dominican Republic. From the founding of Matusalem in Cuba in 1872 to today's production in the Dominican Republic, the Alvarez family's original secret formula and solera storage has been used.
This rum was produced using the Solera process and was allowed to mature in oak barrels for 23 years.
Sweet notes of caramel and vanilla fill the air. On the palate one perceives light notes of dried fruits, oak and a hint of cognac. The finish is pronounced full-bodied and soft.
