Monkey Shoulder Whiskey is inspired by Grant's malt whiskey professionals, who still turn the malt barley by hand. Monkey Shoulder is a blend of three of the best Speyside single malt whiskeys, aged in first-fill bourbon casks Each batch is made with only 27 barrels, which are carefully selected by our malt master Brian Kinsman. In contrast to the conventional blends, Monkey Shoulder is made from 100% malt whiskey, which results in an extraordinary creation.
The bouquet is rich in delicate floral aromas combined with a tangy citrus-orange note and soft fresh fruits (peach & apricot). A touch of honey and spicy oak with a lush vanilla sweetness can also be perceived. On the palate it is wonderfully soft and has light nuances of vanilla. Brown sugar and creamy caramel, harmoniously coordinated with oak notes and a tiny hint of spice, are also present here. It has an exceptionally smooth finish, with a lingering sweetness.
