The Oban Distillery is located under a sheer cliff that overlooks the bay on the border between the West Highlands and the Isles of Scotland, where the land is separated from the sea.

The Oban Distillers Edition first matured in refill casks in the USA and Europe. The whiskey is aged in post-charred Montilla Fino American oak casks with heavily charred ends. The Montilla casks emphasize the unmistakable Auburn style and ensure a harmonious combination of fruit, spice and sea air.

Strong fruity aromas with a slight sharpness, salty sea air and juicy grapes rise into the nose. Sweet orange notes and some smoke are also added. On the palate it is full and heavy with subtle fruit notes and an aroma of sea air. In the finish one perceives notes of fresh coffee, spicy oak and intense malt tones.
