Mohan Meakin Ltd., the producer of Old Monk Rum has founded the brewery in Kasauli, Himachal Pardes, in India. Old Monk Rum is one of the oldest and best selling the world. It was first launched in 1935 by Mohan Nagar Distillery.
This rum is made from local ingredients and therefore has a very exotic taste. It is aged for at least 7 years in selected sherry oak barrels.
The aroma has a hint of chocolate paired with the delicate aroma of sherry. Flavors of almonds and cocoa emerge on the palate. Overall, a very soft and gentle rum without a sharp finish!
