Pulteney is the name of a single malt whiskey distillery located in the port town of Wick in the county of Caithness in Scotland. The unusually shaped pot stills with extra large boiling balls provide a more fragrant whiskey character. This whiskey has a lot to do with the virtues of the casks in which it ages. The distillery uses both American oak ex-bourbon and Spanish oak ex-sherry casks. With traditional lagers exposed to the invigorating sea air that rushes in from the North Sea, Old Pulteney captures the taste of the sea in every drop of its liquid gold.

This whiskey is aged in air-dried and hand-selected ex-bourbon casks throughout its maturation.

Intense and dry notes of fresh fruit and caramel rise into the nose. On the palate it is very soft. Sweet and floral aromas are perceived with fruity notes of lemon, lime and banana. The finish is medium long, soft and slightly salty.
