Pulteney is the name of a distillery for single malt whiskey, located in the port town of Wick in the county of Caithness in Scotland. The unusually shaped pot stills with particularly large boiling balls make for a fragrant whiskey character. This whiskey has a lot to do with the virtues of the barrels it matures in. The distillery uses both American oak ex-bourbon and Spanish oak ex-sherry barrels, with traditional bearings exposed to the invigorating sea air of the North Sea flows in, Old Pulteney captures the taste of the sea in every drop of its liquid gold.

For an even more intense and, above all, more complex taste, the Pulteney matures in two different barrel types, then the two barrels are blended.

This 16 year old malt whiskey is rich in spicy and fruity aromas. Honey, vanilla and fruity notes fill the air. Floral nuances and oak aromas can also be clearly felt in the nose and on the palate.
